The I'm Not Dead Link Cop Out

24 Mar 2008 •

Uhhhhhm… whoops? Probably nobody else in the tubes would follow up two of their most linked up posts with almost two months of silence.

But quite a bit has happened in the last two months, such as starting a new job and my freelancing email account having a catastrophic fail right as I was attempting my return to freelance work. Suffice to say my routine was thrown into a tailspin, I spent too much time working on other projects (foreshadow!) and adjusting to a hell of a (temporary) commute.

But I’m finally starting to settle in, things are aces so far at the new place of business, and hopefully I’ll get back into the swing of things here. So on with some links to send you elsewhere now that I’ve finally got you back (If you love something set it free…).

Let’s Start With the ol’ Search Engine Optimization

  • Your Brand Size Matters – Todd Malicoat doesn’t post much anymore but when he does, you should listen. Things to consider if you’re still making thin sites or following dated optimization/online marketing practices.
  • Urban Legend: You Can Trust Snopes.com – John Andrews uncovers some dirty pool at the popular Snopes debunking site. And as a special surprise offer, John Andrews will pay you $10.00 for each friend you send this Link Cop Out to, and $5.00 for each person your friend sends it out to. What are you waiting for?

Web Geekery

  • Textpattern 4.0.6 released – Textpattern, the Content Management System behind this very site, recently launched a big update. If you’re looking for a deceptively simple (in the good way) alternative to Wordpress I can’t recommend Textpattern enough.
  • Sam Brown releases Sidepath for freeSidepath, a handy little URL Redirection App is now available for free. I was mere inches from buying this when I was putting F6L together.
  • Making the Case for Web Standards Presentation – Rescheduled due to weather, Joe Frantz will be presenting the tech case for standards and Alexis Li will handle the business case for web standards. If you’re in Cleveland or Northeast Ohio and looking to rub shoulders with some of our areas top web talent, this is the place to be. I’ll be there too.

  1. I am glad you aren’t dead.

I have to be honest, I already had a sneaky suspicion that you weren’t dead.

I am glad you confirmed it. :-)
