It's Tough, Kid, But it's Life
Wow. I’m really kind of speechless. Right now, I am feeling old.
Flipping around through the channels, I happened across the “MTV Hits“ channel (included in the package I pay Time Warner Cable extra for so I can get The National Geographic, BBC, and Fox Soccer Channels). This is the lost MTV channel that actually, you know, plays music.
So, flipping around, I happen across the end of what appears to be the Foo Fighters and the dude from the Metal LiteTM band System of a Down playing a cover of Holiday in Cambodia, while a bunch of confused kids half-heartedly nodded their heads, confused look on their faces as they tried to figure out if this was some old System of a Down song they’d never heard or something. The irony was deafening.
It’s a day for reflection and sadness when you realize you’re no longer in the target demographic for MTV.
But don’t fret for me, dear readers. I’m going to see if I still have any DK tapes packed away some where. Maybe I’ll even finish one of the six or so posts sitting half-finished in my drafts folder and stop wasting your time with crap like this.
