The I'm Not Dead Link Cop Out
Uhhhhhm… whoops? Probably nobody else in the tubes would follow up two of their most linked up posts with almost two months of silence.
But quite a bit has happened in the last two months, such as starting a new job and my freelancing email account having a catastrophic fail right as I was attempting my return to freelance work. Suffice to say my routine was thrown into a tailspin, I spent too much time working on other projects (foreshadow!) and adjusting to a hell of a (temporary) commute.

The Apps I Use
I’m pretty sure it’s borderline illegal for an Apple geek with a website to not write about the applications they use frequently, so here goes. And, since I always find myself recommending programs to friends when they make the switch now I can just point them here.
And since I’m a total voyeur when it comes to other people’s writing on what they’re using (or reading), I figured it’s only fair to turn the spotlight on myself. Just about all of these apps I use at least once a week, and I omitted the obvious such as iTunes, iPhoto, Calculator, TextEdit and Word. I broke my list down to three main functions; Communication, Utilities, and Development. Listed alphabetically since I’d be up all night trying to order them by any kind of rank.

Hopping on the Book Stack Train
For just about as long as I could read, I’ve been a voracious reader. I don’t know if it’s a cause of my life-long insomnia or a reaction to it, but I’ve been staying up reading all night for as long as I can remember. Or maybe it’s because I didn’t have cable television growing up.
But I probably picked it up from my mom, herself an avid reader who used to drag my sister and I to the library every week while all the other kids watched their fancy-pants cable TV.

How Not to Hire a Web Designer
Looks like hiring time is upon us, because over the past two weeks or so I’ve gotten four unsolicited emails (three from recruiters, one from a “hiring manager”) asking if I’d be interested in setting up a phone interview.
Every one of them spends at least a paragraph describing what an exciting, fast-paced environment their company is, with a diverse client portfolio developing custom dynamic interactivity-driven blah blah blah web sites.

It's Tough, Kid, But it's Life
Wow. I’m really kind of speechless. Right now, I am feeling old.
Flipping around through the channels, I happened across the “MTV Hits“ channel (included in the package I pay Time Warner Cable extra for so I can get The National Geographic, BBC, and Fox Soccer Channels). This is the lost MTV channel that actually, you know, plays music.
